Mobivion: How We Vet and Select Profitable Ad Placements for You

In the world of traffic arbitrage, the quality of the source determines 90% of a campaign’s success. You can build perfect creatives and find an offer with high payouts, but if the traffic comes from low-quality or bot-driven resources, the budget will simply be burned. Mobivion acts as a guarantor of traffic quality by running a multi-stage review and selection of sources. If you already have questions about traffic quality or want to choose vetted ad placements for your vertical, you can immediately message our manager for a consultation. We understand that for our partners—media buyers and advertisers—every ad placement is a potential profit center, so we approach their selection with maximum responsibility.

Every day, our system receives applications from hundreds of new webmasters who want to monetize their properties. Our job is to weed out everything that will not benefit clients and keep only effective ad placements. The review process is not 100% automated, because no algorithm can account for every nuance. We combine technological solutions with manual analysis to ensure the highest quality.

Stage One: Automatic Filtering and Initial Scoring

As soon as a new ad placement applies to join the Mobivion network, it enters our automated initial analysis system. At this stage, we don’t dive into content or user behavior yet; instead, we focus on technical and reputation parameters.

The system checks the following key metrics:

  1. Domain and IP reputation. We analyze the domain’s history and check whether it appears in antivirus blacklists, spam databases, and registers of fraudulent resources. If the domain or its associated IP addresses have a poor reputation, that ad placement is immediately rejected. We do not work with properties that can harm users’ devices or have already compromised themselves.

  2. Technical parameters. We check for the presence and correctness of the ads.txt file, which confirms the site’s right to sell advertising inventory. We analyze the use of the secure HTTPS protocol, page load speed, and overall technical optimization. Slow and insecure ad placements not only perform poorly in terms of conversions but also undermine user trust, so we exclude them.

This initial filter eliminates up to 40% of all incoming applications. This includes phishing sites, doorway pages, resources with viruses, and obviously abandoned projects. We don’t waste time on further analysis of such traffic sources, thereby protecting our clients from knowingly low-quality traffic.

Stage Two: Manual Moderation of Content and Structure

After successfully passing automatic checks, ad placements are handed over to our moderation team. These are real people whose task is to evaluate the site from both the user’s and the advertiser’s perspective. Manual review makes it possible to catch what algorithms miss.

Our moderators pay attention to the following aspects:

  • Site content. We categorically do not accept ad placements that violate the law or ethical standards. These include sites containing calls for violence, extremist materials, adult content without proper labeling, as well as resources that promote illegal activities.

  • Ad clutter. We assess how aggressively the site uses advertising. If there are more banners than useful content on a page, and every click triggers a chain of pop-ups, such an ad placement will be rejected. Users quickly abandon such resources, and ad effectiveness there tends toward zero.

  • Content volume and quality. A site must provide value to visitors. We do not work with resources made up of auto-generated text, copied articles, or meaningless sets of keywords. Only ad placements with unique, useful content can retain an audience and deliver a solid CR.

  • Traffic sources. Moderators analyze where the site’s visitors come from. If the main source is bot networks, artificial traffic boosting, or other dishonest methods, we refuse to cooperate. We care about live, active traffic from search engines, social networks, and other legitimate channels.

Manual moderation is a labor-intensive but essential process. It allows us to be confident that every approved ad placement meets Mobivion’s high standards.

Stage Three: Behavioral Analysis and Anti-Fraud System

Even ad placements that have passed manual moderation do not immediately gain access to all ad campaigns. First, they enter a “sandbox” — a testing period during which we send them a limited volume of traffic and closely monitor user behavior using our in-house anti-fraud system.

This system analyzes dozens of behavioral patterns in real time. Here are just a few of them:

  • Depth of view and time on site. Bots typically land on a single page and leave immediately. Real users follow links and explore the content. Our system tracks these metrics for traffic from each ad placement.

  • Cursor movement and scrolling. We analyze mouse movement patterns. For real people, they are somewhat chaotic; for bots, they are often straight or unnaturally smooth. A lack of scrolling on long pages is also a red flag.

  • Click distribution. The anti-fraud system logs where users click. If 100% of clicks hit the ad unit with perfect accuracy, this is highly likely to be fraudulent clicking. We also detect abnormally high CTRs that are impossible under natural audience behavior.

  • Uniqueness of parameters. The system collects and analyzes users’ digital fingerprints, including screen resolution, browser version, installed plugins, and language settings. Large volumes of traffic with identical fingerprints are a clear sign of a bot farm.

All of this data enables us to identify low-quality ad placements right from the start. If a source shows suspicious activity, it is immediately blocked. If you doubt the quality of traffic you get from other sources or want a list of guaranteed clean sites for your vertical, just message our manager, and they will help you compile a whitelist of vetted resources.

Ongoing Monitoring and Feedback Loop

Our work does not end once a placement is approved. We continuously monitor all active traffic sources. Every ad placement in the Mobivion network is under round-the-clock supervision. The anti-fraud algorithms keep analyzing traffic 24/7. If the quality of traffic from a site deteriorates over time—for example, a webmaster decides to “top up” volumes with a bit of bot traffic—our system will detect it, and that ad placement will be temporarily disabled pending clarification.

In addition, we actively use feedback from our advertisers. In your Mobivion account, you can create blacklists by adding ad placements that show low performance for your specific campaign. We analyze this data. If a particular site frequently appears in blacklists from different partners, it is a signal for us to run a repeated, more in-depth review. This synergy of technology, manual control, and feedback allows us to maintain the cleanliness and effectiveness of the entire ad network.

We understand that your campaign profitability directly depends on the quality of the ad placements we provide. That’s why with Mobivion you don’t just get access to traffic volumes; you get carefully selected, vetted, and high-converting inventory. We do the heavy lifting upfront so you can focus on what matters most—building profitable funnels and scaling your revenue. Every ad placement in our network is the result of a multi-stage selection process aimed at your success. We value your trust and do everything we can to justify it by providing only the best ad placements for your traffic.

Try It in Practice

Theory is great, but traffic arbitrage is first and foremost about practice. You can see the quality of our sources for yourself. Write to our manager to discuss your goals and vertical. They will help you compile an individual whitelist of the most relevant and proven ad placements that have already shown strong performance in your niche. You’ll be able to launch a test campaign on these selected resources and evaluate traffic quality on your own offers.

Message the manager and get access to premium traffic sources.
